It is an interesting decision to bury the dead on an island such as Aeternum. As a scholar notes, such practices have been forbidden since the obscene history of Brightwood and other such haunted locales.
Yet the folk of Nighthaven attempted to bury their dead once, yes, the particular exhumations reveal that a particularly interesting chemical apparatus is at play - yes, on a grand scale perhaps when dealt with life and death energies and other such antiquation - yet the most interesting fact is not about the dirt or the soil or the azoth-scented aftertaste (for scientific reasons, this author does admit to performing consumption experiments and has noted the taste as none other than 'blue', as a symptom of supernatural synethesia, another topic for another paper).
