Sorrowthorn spreads like a plague upon the land, infecting trees within the Dunwood. Biodiversity is limited in areas where S. exsanguis occupies. Sorrowthorn creates an expansive rhizomal system underground, which combined with outcompeting other species within the forest by creating an impenetrable thicket, drains the life out of the surrounding landscape.
It clings to the trees, almost in a parasitic manner. S. exsanguis digs into the environment, jaundiced both in appearance and behavior.
