Finally, I have seen the Athenaeum of the Sage King! How grand it is. Having already toured the Buru of Irkalla and the old House Dracul, I can safely say that the North and South halls are contemporary, and pre-date House Dracul by centuries, if not millenia.
The Athenaeum of the Sage King is a sprawling complex, not unlike those that dot the other territories of Aeternum, save for the prevailing feature of circular patterns adorning the site, a trait indicative of the southern and western modes. A frieze along the northern exterior wall depicts three ancient “Figures of Power,” though their identities are a source of contention. The main structure, similar to a stupa, is a monolithic dome, carved from a single stone in the intensely laborious rock-cut style. The dome’s interior features a great oculus, in which a golden orb is still magnificently set.
The entire site is reminiscent of beautiful Raktapura back home, and leads one to wonder, could these halls have been used for coronation ceremonies?
